Is it obligatory for an unmarried woman to maintain kinship ties, and to what extent do these ties entail?

A girl, whether married or unmarried, must maintain ties of kinship. Scholars have differed on two opinions regarding the definition of the kinship ties that are obligatory to maintain. The first, and most preponderant, opinion is that it includes every unmarriageable kin (those whom one cannot marry due to difference in gender), such as fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, grandfathers, grandmothers, children, paternal uncles, paternal aunts, maternal uncles, and maternal aunts. The second opinion holds that it includes both unmarriageable and marriageable kin. Based on the preponderant opinion, maintaining ties is obligatory for unmarriageable kin, and it is recommended but not obligatory for marriageable kin, such as the children of paternal uncles and maternal uncles.
