What is the ruling on shaking hands after the prayer?

Shaking hands is sunnah at every meeting, due to the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: “There are no two Muslims who meet and shake hands but Allah forgives them before they separate.” As for shaking hands after prayer, there is no basis for it, but there is no harm in it, because the اصل (root/origin) of shaking hands is sunnah.
