Among remembrances (dhikr), some are time-bound and some are absolute. Time-bound remembrances must be adhered to at their specific times. The remembrances of morning and evening are bound by two constraints: either by the wording "asbaha" (morning has come) and "amsā" (evening has come), or "ḥīna yuṣbiḥu" (when morning comes) and "ḥīna yumsī" (when evening comes). Thus, their time is from the entry of morning or evening. Ibn al-Qayyim clarified that the times for morning and evening remembrances are from Fajr prayer until sunrise, and from after Asr prayer until sunset. The second constraint is the restriction of remembrance to the night, such as reciting the last two verses of Surat al-Baqarah. This type of remembrance is to be said upon the entry of night.
