What is the ruling on Salat al-Tasabih, and is it considered an innovation (bid'ah)? What is the ruling on one who performs it and persists in it, especially on the night of mid-Sha'ban? Is the psychological comfort that the worshipper finds in it a justification for persisting in it? What is its legal ruling according to the Qur'an and Sunnah?

There is a difference of opinion among scholars regarding the permissibility of Salatul Tasabih (the prayer of glorifications). The preponderant view is that it is permissible, and it is recommended to perform it regularly: daily, weekly, monthly, yearly, or at least once in a lifetime. However, it is not permissible to single out the night of mid-Sha'ban for this prayer, as there is no mention of this in the Sunnah.
