It is recommended for the Imam and the person praying alone to pray towards a sutra (barrier), but this is not recommended for the congregant (ma'mum). The minimum height of a sutra is like the back of a saddle (approximately two-thirds of a cubit or close to a cubit). It is for the worshipper to draw close to their sutra, so that the distance between their place of prostration and the sutra is wide enough for a sheep to pass.
