The story of the monk Barsisa was mentioned by some exegetes in reference to Allah's saying: "Like the Shaitan when he says to man, 'Disbelieve.' But when he disbelieves, he says, 'Indeed, I am disassociated from you. Indeed, I fear Allah, Lord of the worlds.'" (Quran 59:16). It is not mentioned in the books of , and it is one of the stories of Bani Israel about which it is permissible to narrate, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Narrate from Bani Israel, and there is no harm."
