What is the authenticity of the story of the monk Barsisa, and was the verse revealed concerning him: "Like the devil when he says to man, 'Disbelieve.' But when he disbelieves, he says, 'Indeed, I am disassociated from you; indeed, I fear Allah, Lord of the worlds'"?

The story of the monk Barsisa was mentioned by some exegetes in reference to Allah's saying: "Like the Shaitan when he says to man, 'Disbelieve.' But when he disbelieves, he says, 'Indeed, I am disassociated from you. Indeed, I fear Allah, Lord of the worlds.'" (Quran 59:16). It is not mentioned in the books of Sunnah, and it is one of the stories of Bani Israel about which it is permissible to narrate, based on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "Narrate from Bani Israel, and there is no harm."
