Is it forbidden by Islamic law for a friend to record content that is not unlawful?

It is not permissible for a Muslim to work in recording forbidden songs and musical instruments, nor in photographing explicit images; for that involves spreading evil and encouraging wrongdoers. Allah the Almighty says: (And cooperate not in sin and aggression. And fear Allah; indeed, Allah is severe in penalty). A Muslim should fear Allah and ensure his earnings are lawful, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "The feet of a servant will not move on the Day of Judgment until he is asked about his life and how he spent it, about his knowledge and what he did with it, about his wealth - from where he acquired it and in what he spent it - and about his body - how he utilized it."
