Does a divorce take effect by a man saying to himself, "She is divorced"?

Divorce does not occur through inner thoughts because no legal ruling is based on them. As long as you have not pronounced the divorce of your wife with an explicit formula or an intended metaphor, she is not divorced, and doubts and whispers have no effect.
