Does the Fire have an appetite to consume people, and does it possess intellect and thought, as is understood from Hadiths such as, "The Fire is more deserving of what was acquired unlawfully," and its saying, "Is there any more?"?

It has been established that the Fire possesses senses, perception, will, sight, and speech. This is indicated by Allah Almighty's saying: "When they are cast therein, they will hear from it a [dreadful] inhaling..." (Qur'an 67:7), and His saying: "It almost bursts with rage" (Qur'an 67:8), and His saying: "When it sees them from a distant place, they will hear its roaring and sighing" (Qur'an 25:12), and His saying: "On the Day We will say to Hell, 'Have you been filled?' and it will say, 'Are there any more?'" (Qur'an 50:30). So, the Fire sees, speaks, rages, and asks for more. All these actions are real and not metaphorical, and it is impermissible to deviate from the apparent meaning of the divine texts without valid evidence.
