Is fear and anxiety about the future a form of waswasa (whispers/insinuations from Satan), and is following this waswasa contrary to the commands of Allah and His Messenger (peace be upon him)?

The future is in the hands of Allah alone. A Muslim must take the necessary means, rely upon Allah, adhere to His piety, and maintain a good opinion of Him, for Allah Almighty says: "And whoever fears Allah - He will make for him a way out And will provide for him from where he does not expect. And whoever relies upon Allah - then He is sufficient for him. Indeed, Allah will accomplish His purpose. Allah has already set for everything a [decreed] extent."

Apprehension about the future is not always a form of waswasa (whispers/obsessive thoughts), but excessive apprehension can lead to waswasa which corrupts one's religion and worldly life and contradicts the objectives of Sharia in ease and the removal of hardship.
