What is the ruling on transfusing blood from a disbeliever to a Muslim for treatment purposes?

It is permissible for a Muslim to donate blood to a Muslim or a non-Muslim in dire need of treatment, and requesting blood from others is permissible out of necessity. The one from whom blood is requested should cooperate, and it is forbidden for him to take money in return, due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) prohibition of the price of blood. If the donor refuses to donate except for money, there is no blame on the patient for paying the money, and the sin is on the recipient. If he completely refuses to donate, and the patient's life depends on him, then blood should be taken from him by force, provided it does not harm him, and it thereby saves the patient's life.
