Is it permissible to donate blood to save a non-Muslim from perishing?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

There is no harm in donating blood to covenants or to a disbeliever under a covenant who is in dire need, due to Allah’s saying: (Allah does not forbid you from those who do not fight you because of religion and do not expel you from your homes - from being righteous toward them and acting justly toward them). The Prophet, peace be upon him, also commanded Asma bint Abi Bakr to maintain ties with her disbelieving mother. Thus, the donor is rewarded for aiding the one in dire need.
