It is permissible to undergo gender reassignment if medical examinations confirm that a person's reproductive system is contrary to their outward appearance. However, mere feminine inclinations do not justify proceeding with gender reassignment; rather, this is considered a great abomination. Taking hormones that enhance feminine characteristics is also a reprehensible act from which one must repent. The afflicted person must fear Allah, be patient, and strive to guard against falling into abominations.
