Has God become angry with me because I suffer from urinary and flatulence incontinence? Does the emission of wind, with or without sound, invalidate ablution? What is the ruling on purifying clothes soiled with urinary incontinence or water from Istinja' (washing after defecation/urination)? Is it permissible to perform several prayers with a single ablution and a single pair of underwear while incontinence persists?

If you suffer from urinary and flatulence incontinence, perform ablution for each prayer after its time has begun, and pray the obligatory prayer and as many supererogatory prayers as you wish until that time expires. If you find a period during which the impurity ceases, wait for it, perform ablution, and pray during it. When entering the lavatory, use a cotton pad to prevent the spread of urine. As for flatulence, it nullifies ablution, and the water you use for istinja’ is pure if it separates from the impurity. The burden of the Qur’an and misgivings in creed originate from obsessive whispers (waswasah); therefore, you must strive against yourself and not give in to them. They will not harm you as long as you dislike them. A person being afflicted with illness is not proof of Allah’s wrath; rather, it may be a sign of His intending good for them if they are patient.
