What is the expiation for my false oath by Allah to avoid a bigger problem with my husband, knowing that the lie was not intended to cause a problem?

You should not have sworn falsely. You could have used a permissible stratagem to get out of your predicament and convince your husband. Since you swore falsely while another stratagem was available, you must hasten to sincere repentance and frequently seek forgiveness and perform righteous deeds.
