Is it valid for a husband to take back his wife after her waiting period has ended, with the passing of two full menstrual cycles, knowing that the wife saw specks of blood at the beginning of the third menstrual cycle? And is the divorce considered valid if both the husband and wife are afflicted by an "obsessive jinn" (mas 'ashiq) and magic intended to cause separation?

If a man divorces his wife with a revocable divorce, he may take her back as long as she is within her waiting period ('iddah). The waiting period for a menstruating woman is three menstrual cycles. If the husband takes his wife back before she performs ghusl (ritual bath) from the third menstruation, the return is valid. However, if the husband does not take his wife back until the waiting period has concluded with the completion of the third menstruation, he cannot take her back except with a new marriage contract. Touching does not prevent the occurrence of divorce unless the one divorcing is unaware of what he is saying.
