What is the ruling on a father who wrongs his wife and beats her, and invokes death upon himself and humiliation upon his wife after his death?

Allah commanded the husband to treat his wife kindly, for a woman is a man's life partner, and marriage is a solemn covenant. Each spouse must preserve the other's virtue.

Therefore, a father beating his mother and oppressing her contradicts these sublime meanings. The son must strive to prevent his father from injustice with courtesy and good manners, for the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Help your brother, be he an oppressor or an oppressed," and helping the oppressor is by preventing him from his oppression.

So, the son must prevent his father from oppressing his mother without causing harm or aggression. This can be done by reminding him that his action is forbidden (haram), or by involving people of virtue and close relatives to advise him. It is also important to frequently supplicate for good for the father, as supplicating for one's own death or for the mother without just cause is forbidden by Islamic law.
