What are the names of the battles of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, mentioned in the Holy Qur’an, and what are the names of the surahs in which they were mentioned?
The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, participated in more than 27 battles (ghazawat), some of which the Holy Quran immortalized either in detail or in general. Among the battles mentioned in detail are: Badr in Surahs Al-Anfal and Al-Imran, Uhud in Al-Imran, Al-Khandaq (the Trench) in Surah Al-Ahzab, and Tabuk and Hunayn in Surah At-. Among the battles mentioned in general are: Banu Qaynuqa' in Surah Al-Imran: "There has already been for you a sign in two armies which met - one fighting in the cause of Allah and another disbelieving. They saw them [to be] twice their [own] number by [their] eyesight. And Allah supports with His victory whom He wills. Indeed in that is a lesson for those who have vision," and Khaybar in His (Allah's) saying: "and much war booty which they will take," and At-Ta'if in His (Allah's) saying: "And [yet] another [battle] you have not been able to overcome; Allah has already encompassed it."
