Did Moses (peace be upon him) enter Palestine, and is his grave there?

Moses (peace be upon him) asked God to bring him closer to the holy land, upon his death, by "a stone's throw." This could mean: bring me from my current location to the holy land this distance, or bring me close to it so that this distance remains between me and it. The second interpretation is more probable.

There have been various opinions regarding the identification of the holy land. Some say it is the land of Jerusalem, others say it is Mount طور (Tur) and its surroundings, some say it is Damascus, Palestine, and parts of Jordan, and still others say it is al-Sham (Greater Syria). Accordingly, the tomb of Moses (peace be upon him) is near Palestine, but not within it. It is well-known that his tomb is in Jericho, by a red sand dune, and Jericho is part of the holy land.
