Are the Day of Resurrection (Yawm al-Qiyāmah) and the Day of Recompense (Yawm al-Ba‘th) the same day, or are they two separate days? And will all of creation be present on the Day of Resurrection, or only a specific group?

The Hour will be established upon the worst of creation at the first blowing of the Trumpet (the blowing of stunning). Then, all people will be resurrected at the second blowing (the blowing of resurrection) for accountability. It is mentioned in the Two Sahihs (Bukhari and Muslim) that there will be forty between the two blowings, and some scholars have interpreted this to mean forty years.

Some scholars are of the view that there are three blowings: the blowing of terror, which will cause the world to change; then the blowing of stunning, in which everything will perish except for whom Allah wills; and finally, the blowing of resurrection and re-creation, in which creatures will rise for accountability.
