The seclusion (khalwa) in which intercourse is possible is considered an entry by some scholars, after which the divorcer owns the right of return (rajʿa) without needing a new contract. If a valid seclusion occurred before the divorce, and the return (rajʿa) happened during the waiting period (ʿidda), then the return is valid, the wife is under his marital bond, and the daughter is attributed to his lineage.
