Is it obligatory to forgive a relative who openly commits sins and hurts the feelings of other relatives?

Forgiving those who err and commit injustice is not a religious obligation. Publicly committing a sin is a matter between the disobedient person and their Lord. As for one who harms people, they accrue sins and must beware of Allah's punishment. It is recommended to be patient with harm from relatives, to pray for their well-being, to vary the methods of offering advice to them, and to supplicate for their guidance. Pardoning an oppressor, when one has the ability to retaliate, is meritorious and brings a great reward from Allah, for Allah Almighty loves forgiveness, and the reward of the one who forgives is upon Allah.
