Is it permissible to wipe over socks if they were put on while in a state of Wudu, and then Wudu was nullified?

The duration of wiping over the socks (جوربين) is three days and nights for the traveler, and one day and night for the resident. If this period ends, one must remove them and put them on again after performing ablution (على طهارة). However, if the ablution (الوضوء) is invalidated during the period of wiping, it is not necessary to remove them; rather, one should perform ablution while keeping them on.
