Whoever missed slaughtering the Aqiqah after the twenty-first day has the choice to slaughter it whenever they wish. It is permissible to slaughter it before Ramadan or during it. However, it is better to hasten it before Ramadan, because its purpose is to hasten good, and because the child is mortgaged by his Aqiqah, so hastening it releases him from the mortgage. This indicates the recommendation to hasten it over delaying it.
