Is it Islamically permissible to utilize and purchase from the internet the supplementary materials provided with foreign textbooks (such as textbook solutions and question banks) for distribution to students? What is the ruling on money earned from courses that use these materials? And is this considered a violation of copyright?

The difference between copying materials and taking some questions and answers from them:

- If copying is prohibited for intellectual property protection by the owners of the materials, it is not permissible to infringe upon their right by copying and selling them, and the transgression of some people in this regard does not make it permissible to imitate them.

- If the prohibition is focused on displaying and circulating the materials because exams are derived from them, and not for intellectual property protection, and they have already been displayed on websites, then the prohibition is negated, and it is permissible to copy and distribute them to students.

- Merely including some samples of those questions in the memorandum is not objectionable and is not considered an infringement of intellectual property rights.
