If a large quantity of a juice is intoxicating, then consuming any amount of it is forbidden, for "that of which a large quantity intoxicates, a small quantity of it is unlawful." The criterion for prohibition is intoxication. Thus, any beverage containing a percentage of alcohol that intoxicates is not permissible to consume unless the intoxicating substance naturally disappears. However, if it is removed by human action, the majority of scholars do not permit its consumption.
