What is the Shar’i (Islamic legal) guideline for a husband entering upon his wife on the wedding night, and is it part of the Sunnah to recite Surat Al-Baqarah and pray on this night?

When a husband enters upon his wife, it is Sunnah for him to take her by her forelock and say: "O Allah, I ask You for her goodness and the goodness of what You have instilled in her, and I seek refuge in You from her evil and the evil of what You have instilled in her." If he fears disturbing her, he should say the supplication silently. As for performing two rak'ahs upon entering, it has been reported from some of the Salaf and is good if done, and there is no harm if it is not done. There is no basis for reciting Surat Al-Baqarah or any other surah.
