Is it permissible for a recently converted Muslim woman, who conceals her Islam from her family and children, to marry a Muslim man secretly, whose family refuses to complete the marriage, due to her Hindu ex-husband's rejection of their two children's conversion to Islam, and for fear of losing custody of them?

There is no truth to the man's mother's statement that new Muslims are not good, for what truly matters is piety and righteous deeds. It is permissible for a man to conceal his marriage from his parents if there is a benefit in doing so. The guardian of the woman is the judge or whoever acts on his behalf legally if she does not have a Muslim guardian. The couple should not show an intention to invite their children to Islam if that would expose them to danger. It is not permissible for a woman to marry herself off, and she must seek Allah's help and supplicate with sincerity. If this marriage will cause the questioner to lose custody of her two children, then we do not advise her to proceed with it now, unless she fears falling into immorality.
