What is the ruling of the Shari'ah regarding a brother's refusal to permit his sister to go out after their father has given her permission?

If a girl is under the care of her father, she is not required to seek her brother's permission to go out for a permissible matter, and her brother has no right to prevent her. However, if her going out is for an impermissible matter or leads to corruption, then he must advise her, enjoin her to good, and forbid her from evil.
