Wearing gold is forbidden for men and permissible for women. Scholars have differed on the reason for its prohibition. Some said: The reason for the prohibition is extravagance and pride, and it was permitted for women due to their need to adorn themselves for their husbands. Others said: The reason is to avoid breaking the hearts of the poor and needy. We are obligated to submit to the rulings of the , whether we know the reason or not.
