What is the ruling on a mother refraining from calling her young son to the religion?
One of the most important priorities for Muslims is raising children upon Islam and instilling its noble values in them, and this is a primary responsibility of the parents. What you are doing by inviting your brother and teaching him religion is, in principle, the mother's duty. Her objection based on teaching religion is unacceptable. However, if the objection is about the method, then that should be taken into consideration. Our guidance to you is to teach your brother without angering your mother, by utilizing times when she is busy or not present. Collective educational tools can also be used, such as playing audio or video lectures in the presence of everyone.
