What is the ruling of the Sharia concerning the treatment of parents who ostracize their son's wife and her family, and threaten their son with their displeasure if he disobeys them, knowing that the wife is righteous and the son prays for his parents and gives charity on their behalf?

You must continue to be dutiful to your parents and avoid angering them with wisdom and compassion, without harming your righteous wife or her family. You are not obligated to divorce your wife if they command you to, for obedience is only in what is good. You are rewarded for your patience with their annoyances, and perhaps Allah will bless you because of your strong ties with them. Continue striving to reconcile your wife and your family in the best way, and do not fail in your kindness to your wife and your good companionship with her.
