And what is the assessment of a raqi (exorcist) who diagnoses without asking questions?

Ruqyah is legislated and commendable. It is best for a Muslim to perform ruqyah on themselves, and it is permissible for them to seek ruqyah from righteous individuals. The Prophet (peace be upon him) performed ruqyah on himself, and Gabriel (peace be upon him) performed ruqyah on him. Recitations can be made over water or oil. The reciter can place their hand on the patient with blowing or spitting, or wiping. Ruqyah, by the permission of Allah, benefits those afflicted by the evil eye, magic, jinn possession, and physical ailments. The Shariah has not specified a particular number of times for ruqyah, but there are narrations indicating odd numbers or seven times. The reciter should bring their mouth close to the water and blow into it. There is no evidence to support the claim that a reciter can know the patient's condition without asking them. Listening to the verses continues until the desired outcome is achieved. Ruqyah from a distance or by listening to recordings is not without benefit, but it is preferable for it to be direct due to the need for blowing.
