Is it forbidden in Islamic law for men and women to touch their thighs, and how can one get rid of this habit?

It is not permissible for a man to touch the leg or any other part of a man's body with lustful intent, nor is it permissible for him to do so with a woman who is unlawful for him. One must abandon this habit by resorting to Almighty Allah with sincere intention and determination to forsake it, and by avoiding excessive looking, thinking, and idleness. It is advised to hasten marriage, for the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "O young men, whoever among you can afford to marry, let him do so, for it helps him lower his gaze."
