Is it permissible to perform Umrah on behalf of a deceased person with whom I have no kinship, such as a king or a president, and will the reward reach the deceased, Allah willing?

The preponderant view, according to us, is that the deceased benefit from what is gifted to them of Hajj or Umrah, and its reward reaches them. There is no requirement for a relationship to exist between the deceased and the one performing Hajj or Umrah on their behalf.
