ما هي علوم الدين؟

The religious sciences are the Sharia sciences that acquaint a person with their religion, such as the sciences of creed (aqidah), Qur’an, Hadith, Fiqh, and their related disciplines. This includes the linguistic sciences that aid in understanding the texts of revelation. As for worldly sciences like medicine and mathematics, learning them is considered an act of worship if the intention behind it is to serve religion and Muslims. Every knowledge is beneficial except for atheistic philosophy, magic, and anything that leads to something forbidden.
