What is the ruling on a wife traveling to a European infidel country and residing there with her husband who holds its nationality, and she and her children acquiring the nationality of that state, so that her husband may abstain from the unlawful, despite her fear for herself and her children?

It is not permissible to acquire the nationality of a non-Muslim country except out of necessity, a recognized need, or an overriding benefit, while taking into consideration the danger of residing in non-Muslim lands for women and children, and what is feared from the influence of mingling and imaging. The husband is advised to frequently observe voluntary fasting, lower his gaze, and be chaste. He should strive to move to an Islamic country and reside there with his family, and make abundant supplications.
