The answer

Divorce has pillars, one of which is uttering it. Therefore, whoever feels a divorce in his heart or imagines it but does not utter it, his divorce does not take effect. And whoever imagines divorcing his wife and succumbs to these thoughts and utters the divorce while not intending to effect it immediately, his divorce does not take effect because he is under the sway of obsessive whispers (waswasah). The one afflicted by waswasah should strive to repel these whispers and ignore them, while seeking refuge in Allah from Satan and adhering to prescribed invocations (dhikr) and lawful ruqyah. It is advisable to guard against anger, as it is an entry point for Satan and a cause of discord. Furthermore, both spouses should work towards family stability through mutual respect and by each fulfilling the rights of the other.
