How can a believing woman who safeguards her religion be sure that Allah loves and protects her?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

The feeling of God's love and protection is a great blessing that must be acknowledged with gratitude. Signs of God's love for His servant include granting success in obedience, diverting from disobedience, answering prayers, and granting steadfastness during trials. The notion held by some that withholding sustenance or health is evidence of God's lack of love is false. Rather, when God loves a people, He tests them, and the most severely tested are the prophets, then the righteous, and so on. God's love is felt through steadfastness in obedience and trials. Whoever draws near to Him through supererogatory acts, He loves him, granting him success in his hearing, sight, hand, and foot, answering his prayers and protecting him. This means granting the servant success in using these limbs in obedience to God, and not a union of being, as claimed by the proponents of wahdat al-wujud.
