ما شرح الحديث: "مطل الغني ظلم"؟

The Hadith, "The procrastination of the rich [in paying debts] is injustice, and if one of you is referred to a wealthy person, he should follow [the referral]," was narrated by Al-Bukhari and Muslim. "Al-Matl" (procrastination) refers to the rich person who is able to pay his debt delaying it without an excuse, and this is an injustice. His saying, "and if one of you is referred to a wealthy person, he should follow [the referral]," means that if someone is referred to a solvent person who has money, he should accept the referral. This command is either obligatory according to the Hanbalis, or recommended according to the majority of scholars, unless there is a legitimate Sharia impediment that prevents accepting the transfer.
