What is the ruling on naming a girl "Bertille" and does it have a meaning in the Arabic language?
"Rateel" is an adjective derived from "ratala," meaning beauty, harmony, and goodness. Al-Khaleel bin Ahmad mentioned that "al-ratl" is the coordination of a thing, and "rattaltu al-kalam" (I recited the words) means I took my time with them and composed them well. It is stated in Al-Qamoos Al-Muheet that "al-ratl" signifies the good coordination of something, the whiteness of teeth, beautiful speech, and the good of everything. Some poets have used the form "Rateel" to describe speech that is beautifully coordinated. The name "Rateel" carries the meaning of "the beautiful one," and it is a permissible name with no objection.
