What is the ruling on designating a prayer area for women in the mosque in front of the mihrab, separated from the men by a wall, relying on the hadith: "The best rows for men are the first, and the worst are the last; and the best rows for women are the last, and the worst are the first"?

A woman is permitted to pray in front of the Imam when it is not possible to pray behind him. This is an opinion held by some scholars and favored by Ibn Taymiyyah, provided there is a valid excuse, such as when the mosque doors are closed due to necessity.

Although there is a difference of opinion among scholars on this issue, with some absolutely forbidding prayer in front of the Imam, it is more cautious for women not to pray in front of the Imam, especially since congregational prayer is not obligatory for them.
