Is it permissible for a wife to uncover her hair in front of her maternal uncle or her paternal male cousin, and is it permissible for her to allow her maternal uncle into her house without her husband being present?

It is not permissible for paternal or maternal cousins to see a woman's hair or to enter upon her; for they are strangers from whom she must veil herself. As for the maternal uncle (khal), it is permissible for him to see her hair and for her to uncover her adornment in front of him because he is a mahram. As for the maternal uncle entering the house of his sister's husband, it requires the husband's permission. If the husband dislikes it, then it is not permissible. But if he does not dislike it, then there is no harm in him entering with permission. All that has been mentioned regarding the permissibility of khalwa (private seclusion) and uncovering adornment is contingent upon there being no unnatural inclination between the mahram and the woman. If such an inclination exists, then caution and veiling become obligatory.
