What is the meaning of the preacher's saying: "Praise be to Allah, Who has ever been, and ever remains living"?

Life is an inherent attribute of Allah Almighty, which He has always possessed and will forever possess. Inherent attributes are those that are intrinsically tied to the Creator's essence, meaning He has been and will always be described by them, eternally. An example of this is the attribute of life, for Allah has always been and will always be Living, as He Almighty said: "He is the First and the Last," and "And rely upon the Ever-Living who does not die."
