The answer

Whoever repents must be sincere in their repentance, for Allah accepts sincere repentance, no matter how great the sins, if its conditions are met. The penitent should increase in acts of obedience, remembrance (dhikr), and seeking refuge from Satan, and occupy their mind and time with what is beneficial. They must avoid everything that leads to sins, such as forbidden mixing and unlawful seclusion (khalwa), and lowering the gaze. There should be constant remembrance of the encouragement for acts of obedience and the warning against sins and indecencies, while always being mindful of Allah's greatness and His constant watch. One should strive for steadfastness in repentance and not despair if they falter, but rather seek forgiveness and return to Allah. They should conceal their sin and not disclose it. It is obligatory to maintain the prescribed prayers and supererogatory ones, to frequently remember Allah, and to associate with righteous company, alongside supplicating and earnestly imploring Allah for steadfastness.
