The answer

We ask God to have mercy on your husband and forgive him. The praise of people for him with goodness is a glad tiding for him of Paradise. May God reward you for your kindness to your husband, both alive and dead. There is no blame upon you for not informing your husband's family of the whereabouts of the movable assets, as long as it is a way to secure your right. Your silence and not acknowledging the truth carries no sin for you if it does not result in injustice to anyone or the unlawful consumption of their wealth. The injustice of his brothers towards you is what compelled you to do so, and they bear the sin of slandering the deceased.
