What is the ruling on money earned from working in a usurious bank before knowing of its prohibition and repenting from this work?

As long as the person was unaware of the impermissibility of the work and then abandoned it immediately upon learning of it, he is not obligated to dispose of the money earned from this work, and he may benefit from it, based on the words of the Almighty: (So whoever receives an admonition from his Lord and desists may have what has passed) [Al-Baqarah: 275]. This has been affirmed by the scholars of the Permanent Committee for Issuing Fatwas and Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen.
