Does delaying the slaughter of a vow — due to lack of funds — cause many troubles and problems to occur?

Delaying the fulfillment of a vow that is not restricted to a specific time is not blameworthy. However, it is preferable for the capable person to hasten its performance. Its fulfillment can be done at leisure, not immediately. This applies to both unconditional vows and conditional vows. If the delay is due to incapacitation, then it must be fulfilled when one becomes able. If the incapacitation is not expected to cease, then the one who made the vow must offer an expiation for breaking an oath (feeding ten needy persons, or clothing them, or emancipating a slave; and if he cannot find these, then fasting for three days). A vow contingent on a condition is disliked, but it must be fulfilled.
