What is the ruling on disclosing the privacy of others, especially disclosing the privacy of a Muslim woman?

The Sharia prohibits the disclosure of others' private matters that they dislike anyone knowing. "If a man tells a story, then looks around; it is a trust," and it is not permissible to betray it by spreading it. The prohibition is confirmed if the disclosure harms the other person, or if the owner of the secret asked for it to be kept, or if there is an indication to that effect. A specific prohibition was mentioned regarding the disclosure of intimate marital matters, and the Sunnah likened whoever divulges this secret to Satan who fulfills his need while people are watching. "Indeed, among the worst people in rank before Allah on the Day of Resurrection is a man who goes to his wife, and she goes to him, and then he divulges her secret."
