Abu Jahl is not among the uncles of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. His uncles were nine: Al-Abbas, Hamzah, Abu Talib, Al-Zubayr, Al-Harith, Hajl, Al-Muqawwim, Dirar, and Abu Lahab. Of them, only Hamzah and Al-Abbas embraced Islam. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, had six paternal aunts: Safiyyah, Umm Hakim Al-Bayda, Atikah, Umaymah, Arwa, and Barrah. Of them, Safiyyah embraced Islam, and there is disagreement regarding the Islam of Atikah and Arwa.
